Pregnancy
Nancy Beatie was unable to become pregnant due to a hysterectomy, and the couple decided to have Thomas carry the child. It reportedly took him two attempts at artificial insemination, with the first ending in an ectopic pregnancy.
Baby Photos
On July 24, 2008, Thomas Beatie gave an interview and appeared in a photograph with his baby in People Magazine. The baby girl, Susan Juliette, was born weighing nine pounds, five ounces, and was described by Beattie as "easygoing and mellow and intelligent."2
