Portishead is a Jazz influenced Trip-Hop band from England consisting of Geoff Barrow, Adrian Utley and singer Beth Gibbons.

Dummy and Portishead

Portishead released their genre defining debut, Dummy in 1994. It featured two hit singles, "Glory Box" and "Sour Times."

In 1997 the band released their self-titled sophomore album. The band changed their recording process for Portishead giving them a different sound then their debut.

In 1998 the band released a live album titled, Roseland NYC Live.

Hiatus

Portishead went on a hiatus after the release of their live album. In 2002 Gibbons released her debut solo album titled Out of Season. The band reformed for the Tsunami Benefit Concert held in Bristol. This was the first time the band had performed together in seven years.

Third

After a triumphant return performance at the 2008 Coachella festival Portishead released their latest album Third, on April 28, 2008.
