Polygamy's Rape of Rachael...

Guide Note: Polygamy's Rape of Rachael Strong was written by John R. Llewellyn.

The book documents a case about a Mormon Fundamentalist polygamist who allegedly raped Rachael Strong. However, he was not prosecuted. The man reportedly was her 45-year-old step-father. The book addresses the issue of whether or not this case was a crime or occurred because of religious doctrine or Rachael's on free will.

According to the back cover of the book, "In 2006, the State of Utah is enacting policies that appear to be decriminalizing polygamy, and non-profit victims advocate Tapestry Against Polygamy has been asked not to use politically incorrect words like “victim” or “escape” or “brainwashed” or “cult.”

It goes on to say that, "Freedom of Religion is now headed to the Supreme Court. Will they consider the difference between “free-will” plural marriage and the human rights violations of “religious-coercive” polygamy?"
