Playpens

Playpens, or Pack N' Plays, are portable crib-like enclosures for infants or toddlers to play in, out of harm's way. Many playpens come with accessories that include bassinets, mobiles and diaper stackers. The name Pack N' Play came to use when playpens became able to fold down and fit into a bag, allowing you to take them with you on outings.

History

Playpens were originally made out of wood, with a square or rectangular bottom and vertical bars around the edges. They have evolved into a metal or heavy-duty plastic structure covered in a mesh, fabric or nylon sides.
