Background
On August 28, 2003, Brian Wells was forced by gunmen to attach a collar-bomb around his neck. Wells, a pizza delivery man by trade, was then forced to attempt a bank robbery near Erie, Pennsylvania. Wells was taken into police custody, but the timed explosive device detonated before the bomb squad could arrive to remove it from his neck. Wells was 46 at the time of his death.1
