There are over a dozen breeds of domesticated rabbits kept often as pets, ranging from the larger French angora to the Dutch or Netherland dwarf.

Most rabbits get along with other household pets and can be taught to use the litter box.

Rabbits are social animals and love to be let out of their cage. Care should be given to electrical wiring; rabbits are notorious chewers and will go straight for loose wiring. Wire proofing and safe guarding your house is a must if you're going to let your pet roam freely. ¹

Female rabbits should be spayed to help in preventing uterine cancer. Neutering males will prevent bulling with other rabbits and help in controlling the need to mark their territories.
