Persimmon Pudding is a traditional American dessert similar to custard and made using persimmons, sugar, flour, eggs, milk, and butter. The pudding is usually served warm with ice cream.

Traditional Persimmon Pudding

Ingredients

1. 2 cups persimmon pulp
2. 2 eggs
3. 1 cup white sugar
4. 4 cups all-purpose flour
5. 2 teaspoons baking soda
6. 6 cups milk
7. 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl mix the persimmons pulp and eggs using a whisk. Then combine sugar, flour, and baking soda. Alternate the dry materials with milk until smooth. Pour the mixture into a large greased casserole dish and add dabs of butter on the top. Bake for two hours and stir every minutes. Pudding will be dark brown when ready. -adapted from AllRecipes.com¹
