Peanut butter is a paste made with roasted peanuts, oil and salt and is a popular snack and also used in recipes. Most kids love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and another favorite is peanut butter cookies. Who can turn down a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Some people just like to eat peanut butter on a spoon.

Peanut butter was created by Dr. John Kellogg, the maker of Kellogg's Corn Flakes, in 1890 for a healthy protein substitute for patients with no teeth. In 1922 Skippy became the first commercially marketed peanut butter.

Peanut butter comes in crunchy or smooth. You can also get fat free and sugar free peanut butter.
