Palin Alaskan Independence Party
According to a blog post by ABC News Senior National Correspondent Jake Tapper, members of the Alaskan Independence Party (or AIP) claim Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her husband Todd were active members in the 1990s.1 The group, which describes itself as a "state's rights party," has long lobbied for a vote among Alaskans to determine whether or not to secede from the United States.
