Brief History
The Orlando Magic joined the NBA as an expansion team in 1989. In 1992, Orlando drafted center Shaquille O'Neal. This was followed in 1993 with the acquisition of Anfernee Hardaway. The tandem made Orlando a dominant team in the NBA. The team picked up Horace Grant from the Chicago Bulls and reached the NBA Finals in 1995. The Magic were swept by the Houston Rockets in the series. The next season, Orlando made it back to the Eastern Conference Finals, but were no match for Jordan's Chicago Bulls team and were swept out of the playoffs.
