Operation Phantom Phoenix

Operation Phantom Phoenix is a major military offensive launched by the Multinational Force Iraq (MNF-I) on January 8, 2008. The aim of the offensive is to provide greater security to the people of Iraq by attacking the Iraqi Insurgent Coalition.¹ The operation also seeks to disable the remaining suicide bomb networks that have terrorized the streets of Baghdad.

Operation Iron Harvest

Operation Iron Harvest is the Northern tier of the Phantom Phoenix mission. The objective of Iron Harvest is to hunt down the remaining 200 Al Qaeda extremists remaining in the Diyala, Salah ad-Din, and Nineveh provinces of Northern Iraq.²
