Olympia, WA
Olympia is the capital of Washington State. It is known for being the cultural center of the Puget Sound area. The area has diverse cultural backgrounds including Caucasian, African-American, Native-American, Asian, Pacific Islander and Hispanic.

History
Olympia was home to the Squaxin, Nisqually, Puyallup, Chehalis, Suquamish, and Duwamish. European explorers, including Peter Puget, first visited the area in 1792. The area was claimed in the 1840's by Edmund Sylvester and Levi Smith. The city received it name due to it's view of the Olympic Mountains.
