Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest began as a horse race in honor of King Joseph Maximilian's marriage to Princess Theresa in October of 1810.1 Today the celebration is still held annually for two weeks in Munich, Germany from the end of September into early October, and is considered one of the largest festivals in the world.2
