Background

Ohio Valley Wrestling was the developmental promotion for many of World Wrestling Entertainment's current stars.

On February 7, 2008, the WWE announced that it was ending its partnership with OVW.¹ Despite the split, OVW continues to put on shows throughout Kentucky. It also has a weekly Saturday TV show on local Louisville stations.²
