Origins
The Ocicat originated in 1964 in Berkeley, Michigan and was the result of an attempt to breed an Abyssinian-pointed Siamese. Many breeders began producing the distinct spotted ocicats by further combining Abyssinian/Siamese cats with American shorthairs to produce a wider variety of colors and patterns and heavier bone structure.
