Career

Obadele Thompson entered the Summer Olympics in 1996. He ended up finishing in fourth place in the 200 m sprint. Thompsin also finished fourth in the 1999 World Championships in Athletics. He returned to compete in the Olympics again in 2000 in Sydney, Australia, winning the bronze medal. This made Thompson the first individual Olympic medalist to come from Barbados.¹
