Begum Nusrat Bhutto is the former first lady of Pakistan, widow of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and mother of the assassinated Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

Positions Held
Bhutto served as first lady from 1973 to 1977. She became the leader of the Pakistan People's Party, in 1979, after her husband was executed. However, she was diagnosed with cancer in 1982 and given permission to leave the country to seek medical treatment. Her departure allowed her daughter, Benazir Bhutto, to take over her position with the PPP. Bhutto served several terms as a member of parliament to the National Assembly following her return to Pakistan. She was also a cabinet member and deputy prime minister.
