Changes to Wisconsin's Laws
In September of 2006, the sexual assault charges against the three men were dropped. A judge dismissed the charges because there was no law against necrophilia in the state of Wisconsin.2 In July of 2008, the Supreme Court of Wisconsin reinstated the charges against the men. The court ruled that sex with a corpse is illegal because a corpse cannot consent.1
