Nicholas Garza is a student at Middlebury College in Vermont who disappeared on the evening of February 5, 2008, while the school was on winter break. Police conducted ground searches in the surrounding area throughout the month of February and have continued air searches into March through cold weather and heavy snow.

Nicholas Garza was last seen leaving a friend's dormitory building just after 11:00 PM on February 5. A thorough search of the campus brought up no clues for police.

On Tuesday May 27, 2008, a badly decomposed body was found below a waterfall. It is believed to be the body of Nicholas Garza.

On the body was a wallet belonging to Garza.

Garza's mother was present when the body was removed and she is almost certain that it is her son.

An autopsy will be performed to determine if the body is indeed Nick Garza's.
