New Black Panther Party

The New Black Panther Party (NBPP) is a Black nationalist group with no direct connection to the original Black Panther Party. Founding members of the original party sued the NBPP.

NBPP Wants

According to the official website of the NBPP, the group has a list of wants, and beliefs. The list includes, the desire for freedom, full employment, tax exemption and reparations, decent housing with health facilities, education that teaches "true history", exemption from military, end to police brutality, all black people to be freed from prison, and in future trials, only black jurors for black defendants, and finally and end to the "racist death penalty".

Criticism

Classified as a hate group by the anti-racist Southern Poverty Law Center, the group is known for racist and anti-semitic rhetoric and its association with the late Nation of Islam figure Khalid Muhammad. Members of the original Black Panthers have dismissed the NBPP as "entertainers" and " a group of anti-Semites like the very Ku Klux Klan they allegedly oppose."
