olfactory nerve or Nerve "O" as it's more commonly called. Nerve "O" is a small nerve found in the upper part of the nasal cavity and is the first of the 12
cranial nerves. Researchers now believe that it is the conduit for our bodies to read sexual cues from possible partners. Research also says we are more sexually drawn to scents that are dissimilar to our own and because family members tend to have the same sort of smell it protects most people from seeking a sexual relationship with them. However, during pregnancy women are more drawn to people that have the same scent as them which is why they are more drawn to family then their mate. These same cues are reported to also be able to ruin a relationship.
