Neo Base
Neo Base is a smartphone/software bundle distributed by Openmoko, Inc. The bundle includes the Neo 1973, Openmoko's first touchscreen smartphone, and a system developer's kit for Openmoko's open-source, Linux-based smartphone operating system. A similar bundle, Neo Advanced, is also available. It contains the same essential items, but adds various accessories specifically for software developers.1

Limited Release
The Neo Base was released exclusively to software developers who were interested in creating programs for the Openmoko platform. They were encouraged to create new, open-source software for use in forthcoming versions of the Neo 1973, which would be designed more for consumer use.1
