National Pig Day

National Pig Day is celebrated on March 1. It was proposed by a Texas art teacher. She wanted a way to pay tribute to the pig, which she maintains is an intelligent domestic animal.¹ National Pig Day is not an official national holiday, as it is not sanctioned by the U.S. Congress.²
