Nathan Layton
Nathan Layton, a British student and "wildlife enthusiast" was bitten by Africa's deadly
black mamba snake on March 4, 2008. He died shortly after. His body was flown back to England on March 11, 2008. The event occurred on the South African Wildlife Campus in Hoedspruit,
South Africa. Apparently the snake had been captured and was being used for teaching purposes at the school when it
bit Layton on the finger. Snake venom antidote was not available and would likely not have saved his life had it been, according to reports.
