Nascar Lawsuit
In early June, 2008, the professional auto racing organization NASCAR was hit with a $225 million lawsuit from former employee Mauricia Grant. In the suit, Grant alleged racial and sexual discrimination, as well as sexual harassment, during her years working as a technical inspector on NASCAR's Nationwide Series from 2005 until her termination in October, 2007. Grant also alleged that she was wrongfully terminated after complaining to her superiors.

Grant's Suit
Grant details in her lawsuit 23 incidents of alleged sexual harassment and 34 incidents of alleged racial or sexual discrimination.1 Grant claims that co-workers questioned her sexuality, asked her to hide so they wouldn't be seen with a black woman, and repeatedly called her derogatory names. Grant claims that co-workers also told her she worked on "colored people's time" and one official repeatedly made references to the Ku Klux Klan while in her presence.1
