Rose hasn't scored in more than 16 minutes and it shows. Kansas doing mostly everything right in the half, getting balanced scoring and spreading the floor by moving the ball effectively. The Jayhawks are showing great hustle and a great chin - Tigers were up 6 early and it looked like it was going to be a blowout, and Kansas responded solidly.

• Crief: I was impressed with Kansas for the first 16 minutes of their semifinal win Saturday night, and then they seemed to coast through the remainder of the game against North Carolina. I was impressed with Memphis for all 40 minutes of their win over UCLA, the team I thought would win it all. No one, not UCLA, not Texas, not Michigan State, has been able to figure out a way to slow down Chris Douglas-Roberts and/or Derrick Rose. "CDR" has been revving at a high RPM the whole tournament, and Rose to me looks exactly like what LeBron James would have looked like if he played one season of NCAA ball. More importantly, they have played great perimeter and interior defense, and have hit their foul shots. I have yet to see a game in this tournament where Memphis took their collective feet off of the gas pedal, and I don't think that will change tonight. I think Kansas has good quality depth, but at times (especially against Davidson in a regional final they tried to give away) the Jayhawks lose focus and drift around the court. If Memphis holds their own on the glass, it's their game to lose. Predicted Score: Memphis 78 - Kansas 68

• Dean: Well, it didn't work too well for ESPN's Dickie V the other night when he stuck with his pre-tourney pick of UCLA to make it to the championship game (Coach Bob Knight and the rest of the College Gameday boys picked Memphis)...so...I'm sticking with the team I picked after seeing them dominate in early tourney play, Kansas...despite a sneaking suspicion that the Tigers might be able to manhandle the Jayhawks in a lot of different situations that could prove devastating if Kansas isn't on top of their game from the onset.

• Memphis was my pre-tourney pick, and it's tempting to stubbornly predict that they'll finally beat down KU by the end of the game. But no, I'm going to stick with my assessment that Kansas has got it all: balance, brawn, and mad skills. Memphis is even bigger and stronger, and they can at least match the Jayhawks in the skill department when firing on all cylinders—which happens most of the time these days. But I think the media's favorite sticking point with Memphis, their foul shooting, might just do them in when all is said and done tonight... that's if the Jayhawks don't come out flat after expending all that energy holding off Carolina's comeback the other night. Predicted Score: Kansas 65 - Memphis 60
