- 3:20: Nash scores on a layup
- 3:40: Three straight attempts to shoot by David West are blocked down low

- 4:50: Ray Allen for 3
- 5:08: Carmelo dunks off a great pass by Chris Paul

- 2:39: TV Timeout: East leading 64-57... LeBron has 12 with 7 assists, and Howard has 12 with 3 steals and a block; Brandon Roy of Portland has 11 on 5-of-7 shooting and Stoudemire has 10 to lead the West
- 2:50: Give and go with West teammates Iverson and Camelo makes it 7 point East lead
- 3:25: Wade on layup puts East back up by 9
- 4:22: Bosch at the line misses both free throws, West trying to cut the lead and Roy misses the 3... 62-55 East

- 4:15: Now a 3 point game - Billups off the glass for 2 as the lead goes back to 5
- 4:30: Back-to-back turnovers leads to Anthony taking a 2-on-1 pass and drawing a foulo on Wallace.
- 5:28: Yao Ming with a baseline jumper is followed up by Iverson finishng a fast break with a la-up
- 5:54 Carmello hits the free throw to make it 18-10 as play resumes
- 5:54: Television Timeout as the East leads 18-9: Chris Bosh leads the East with 8 points, Wade and Howard have 4 each; Carmelo has 4 of the West's 9 points so far. - 8:25 PM: Introductions of the two rosters and the singing of the national anthem are taking place - Harry Connick and Branford Marsalis are at center court welcoming the fans to New Orleans and introducing New Orleans musicians the "Rebirth Brass Band"
- 8:20 PM: Marv Albert with Doug Collins and Reggie Miller on the broadcast crew - COMMENTARY: Is there anybody better on a big broadcast than Mav Albert?
- 8:15 PM: The TNT crew of Magic Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley are all in agreement that Jason Kid would make Dallas a huge factor in the 2nd half of the NBA season and playoffs.
- 8:10 PM: Jason Kidd says that he think a decision on his trade status will be cleared up in next 24 hour. Meanwhile, despite the Lakers not wanting him to do so, Kobe Bryant is starting with torn ligaments in his right pinky.
- 8:05 PM: TNT's David Aldridge reports that the Jason Kidd Trade is now unlikely to happen as constituted. Awaiting pre-game ceremonies, including player introductions.
