  • 0:06: Out of boumds to the East
  • 0:08: Allen fouled and will go to the line - hits the 1st and misses 2nd
  • 0:15: Allen scores, but Roy hits a 3 makes it a 3 point game
  • 0:35: Wade with a jumper good and the foul - East up 4 - missed free throw
  • 1:00: LeBron over Stoudemire and Dirk slams home with authority!
  • 1:25: Allen misses a 3 - rebound West
  • 1:36: Chris Paul for 3 ties it at125-125
  • 1:49: It's 125-122 East - TV TIMEOUT
  • 1:56: Ray allen again from 3 gives the East the lead back
  • 2:50: Brandon Roy lays it in for a 3-point West lead, but then Allen knocks down another 3 with a shooters touch

  • 1:26: Pierece and Allen score to put the East up 104-93 as the West call a timeout - COMMENTARY: The West went to a 3-guard line-up which helped cut the lead to 6, but every time the West gets close, the East then pushes the lead back up to 9 or 10.
  • 2:37: Boozer scores, but then Allen on a reverse layup makes it 100-93 approaching 2 minutes mark
  • 2:59: West scores to make it 98-91
  • 3:20: Nash scores on a layup
  • 3:40: Three straight attempts to shoot by David West are blocked down low
  • 4:34: TV Timeout - East leads 98-87
  • 4:50: Ray Allen for 3
  • 5:08: Carmelo dunks off a great pass by Chris Paul
  • 5:45: Nash with a jumper just inside 3-point line
  • 6:13: Bosch scores on a layup and then Ray Allen scores on a loayup following another West turnover and gets fouled

  • 8:56: Kidd tries to lob it to Wade but he and Howard both miss dunk attempts and then Yao gets fouled and makes both - it's 81-75 East
  • 9:29: West has cut the lead to 6 as Carmelo gets a layup off a turnover
  • 10:06: Nash from Iverson and then Duncan blows a slam dunk
  • 10:50: LeBron for 3, but Iverson answers with a 2 to make it 79-69 East
  • 11:11: East up by 11 as Yao misses a 3 but Carmelo slams home the rebound
  • 11:44: Wade gets the layup and adds the free throw as we are underway in 2nd half

Second Quarter

  • 0:00: Half ends with East loeading the West 74-65
  • 0:09: Great pass by Wade to Hamilton for a backdoor layup
  • 0:28: Boozer from Roy makes it 72-65
  • 0:54: East leading by 9 as Wade lays it in over Dirk
  • 1:30: Boozer on the short jumper, but Rasheed "left-handed" for 3 as the East keeps things going
  • 2:06: Dirk answers for the West
  • 2:24 Rip Hamilton 3-ball side pocket, 10 point East lead
  • 2:39: TV Timeout: East leading 64-57... LeBron has 12 with 7 assists, and Howard has 12 with 3 steals and a block; Brandon Roy of Portland has 11 on 5-of-7 shooting and Stoudemire has 10 to lead the West
  • 2:50: Give and go with West teammates Iverson and Camelo makes it 7 point East lead
  • 3:25: Wade on layup puts East back up by 9
  • 4:22: Bosch at the line misses both free throws, West trying to cut the lead and Roy misses the 3... 62-55 East
  • 4:57: Boozer to the line after fouled by Bosch, still a 9 point lead for the East
  • 5:08: TV Timeout, the action was furious and fast with several slam dunks - it's an all-star game, so very little defense
  • 5:46: Chris Paul for 3, its 59-53 East, and then LeBron from the parking lot makes it a 9 point game again
  • 6:51: Double alley-oop as Dwight Howard slams, and another jam on an alley-oops by james, and then returns the favor to Howard
  • 7:12 East lead now just to two points at 50-48, West making a run
  • 8:52: West takes the ball out and Chris Paul knocks down a jumper for the West
  • 8:57: TV Timeout: East leads the West 46-39, they have led the whole way so far.
  • 9:08: Stoudemire hits 1 of 2 at the line for the West
  • 9:30: Brand Roy with a layup for the West, but then Ray "Jesus Shuttlesworth" Allen hits another 3 for the East
  • 10:00: West hits a jumper, but Joe Johnson adds a 3 for the East to put them up by 7
  • 10:40: Kidd lookaway pass to LeBron for the dunk, East leads 40-34
  • 12:00: Play underway, Kidd for 2 as East leads 38-30
  • Waiting for 2nd quarter to start = East is shooting 55% from the floor in te 1st period with 13 team assists, while the West is now up to 48% shooting from the floor. Chris Bosh leads the East with 8 points, while Pierce has 6 and 4 players have 4 points. For the West, Stoudemire has 7 to lead the way, followed by 6 for Carmelo.

First Quarter

  • 1:30: David West scores for the West and gets a big cheer from the hometown New Orleans fans.
  • 2:10: Timeout = East leads 26-19
  • 2:46: Pierce for 2, 9 point lead for East
  • 3:26: Billups 1 for 2 at line, East leads 22-17
  • 4:15: Now a 3 point game - Billups off the glass for 2 as the lead goes back to 5
  • 4:30: Back-to-back turnovers leads to Anthony taking a 2-on-1 pass and drawing a foulo on Wallace.
  • 5:28: Yao Ming with a baseline jumper is followed up by Iverson finishng a fast break with a la-up
  • 5:54 Carmello hits the free throw to make it 18-10 as play resumes
  • 5:54: Television Timeout as the East leads 18-9: Chris Bosh leads the East with 8 points, Wade and Howard have 4 each; Carmelo has 4 of the West's 9 points so far. East shooting 8 for 12 so far, with most of those as dunks, Kidd and LeBron have 3 assists each. West is only 4 for 13 from the field so far.
  • 6:24: Mass substitutions - Kobe has his hand wrapped in ice and will not return to the game
  • 7:15: Chris Bosh showing explosiveness to the basket with back-to-back dunks
  • 8:15: 12-5 East lead as East has 5 slam dunks for their field goals
  • 9:13: 1st foul is a reach-in on James: Iverson at the line hits first. Substitution: Nash for Kobe. Iverson misses 2nd = 8-5 East
  • 10:20: East leading 6-2 as Carmelo pulls up and hits a duece making it 6-4 East
  • 11:10: After a turnover, Dwight Howard slams on an alley-oop from LeBron, then Howard blocks Yao's shot at other end
  • 11:35: Dwayne Wade gets first basket on a slam dunk
  • 12:00: Opening Tip goes to the East, East in blue jerseys on front, white on back, while West has white on front with gold on back

Pre-Game

  • 8:35 PM: Now waiting for the national anthems performed by Deborah Cox (Canada) and Stephanie Jordan with Branford Marsalis (USA) COMMENTARY: Can we please stop the over-the-top anthem singing and go back to making them the way they were intended - not 8 minute son, ong, oong, ooongs, but anthems
  • 8:25 PM: Introductions of the two rosters and the singing of the national anthem are taking place - Harry Connick and Branford Marsalis are at center court welcoming the fans to New Orleans and introducing New Orleans musicians the "Rebirth Brass Band"
  • 8:20 PM: Marv Albert with Doug Collins and Reggie Miller on the broadcast crew - COMMENTARY: Is there anybody better on a big broadcast than Mav Albert?
  • 8:15 PM: The TNT crew of Magic Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley are all in agreement that Jason Kid would make Dallas a huge factor in the 2nd half of the NBA season and playoffs.
  • 8:10 PM: Jason Kidd says that he think a decision on his trade status will be cleared up in next 24 hour. Meanwhile, despite the Lakers not wanting him to do so, Kobe Bryant is starting with torn ligaments in his right pinky.
  • 8:05 PM: TNT's David Aldridge reports that the Jason Kidd Trade is now unlikely to happen as constituted. Awaiting pre-game ceremonies, including player introductions.
