Mustique is a private island in the Caribbean owned by the Mustique Company. The company, in turn, is owned by homeowners on the island and shareholders, who want to protect the beauty and privacy of Mustique. The island is part of the country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and only covers about 1,400 acres. There are only two hotels on the island and about 90 private villas, most available for weekly rentals. Because the island is so isolated and exclusive, it is a favorite among the celebrity scene. ¹

Attractions

Sight-see by boat: Charter a boat and sail around the island or go offshore fishing. Fishing trips can be arranged to the Grenadine Islands of Bequia, Canouan, Tobago Cays, Palm and Petit St.Vincent. ⁴
The Equestrian Center and Watersports Center: This center provides lessons in horseback riding, scuba diving, sailing and windsurfing. ⁴
Britannia Bay: This bay is a focal point of the island and contains the popular, Basil's Bar, and a number of other shops. ⁴
Macaroni Beach: This beach is a popular tourist spot and is great for snorkeling. ⁵
The Mustique Blues Festival: This festival is held annually in January and February. Past entertainers have included Dino Baptiste, Earl Green, Corrina Greyson, Javier Garcia de Vicente, Steve “Big Man” Clayton and Big Joe Louis. ⁴
