Music Therapy is a science which uses music as a complementary medicine. Music therapy is used for emotional, physical, cognitive and social needs in individuals and groups. It is believed to not only heal the physical aspect but also the mental, psychological or social aspect of the human being. Music therapy can deal with all stages of human life from the fetus who is played music while in the womb to infants and children who learn with the help of music. Adults use music therapy to help relieve stress. Music therapy also helps the elderly regain memory. Music therapy is a wellness therapy for the mentally ill, psychologically disturbed, and the disabled.

Music Therapy is an ancient form of healing but in todays world it is performed by certified professionals who trained, studied and received a bachelor's degree. Professional music therapists also go through a certification process. Music therapy is based on clinical studies and evidence based research. Fast Facts:
