Mortal Kombat 2

Guide Note
Mortal Kombat II is a fighting game and is the second game in the popular Mortal Kombat series developed by Midway. Known for its brutal violence, the game was released in 1993 and featured more fatalities, new characters and new special moves. The game was originally released in arcades, but was subsequently released on the SNES and Sega Genesis consoles.
Versions:
Unlike Mortal Kombat, where most of the consoles had different looks and gameplay features, Mortal Kombat II was consistent throughout all of the consoles. The SNES version displayed a disclaimer, noting that there was blood and violence in the game. The Sega Genesis version also had the blood and fatalities, but the game lacked the look of the SNES version. Also, Goro's Lair was not in the Sega Genesis version, as it was replaced by a level with a blue portal in the background. The Sega Saturn version is considered to be the best version available because of its enhanced look and quick loading times. However, the game lacks the Shao Kahn voice-overs and the female screams by Kitana and Milleena.
