When heading to a Moroccan Restaurant you may not be clear on what you're ordering. Here is a little guide to some of the most popular dishes.

• Couscous - is a type of semolina that replaces rice. It's always served with dinner and is usually prepared plain or with vegetables.
• Mechoui - is a main course of roasted lamb
• Pastilla - is a main course of chicken and almonds
• Mourouzia - is a main course of lamb with raisins and honey
• Lhzina - is a salad with oranges, paprika, and olives

Dessert

While dessert isn't highly popular in Moroccan cuisine there are some sweet options after dinner. Try Shebakia which are sesame cookies, Limun bel-Qerfa which are oranges in cinnamon, or Kaab el ghzal, a type of almond paste that is similar to a pudding.
