Misty May-Treanor
Along with her partner, Kerri Walsh, professional beach volleyball player Misty May-Treanor won the gold medal at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics. They are the first team to win consecutive beach volleyball gold medals at the Olympics in the history of the sport. May-Treanor is the all-time leader in both wins and earnings in women's professional beach volleyball.1 May-Treanor and Walsh held a undefeated streak for over a year. After 112 consecutive wins, they were defeated by Elaine Youngs and Nicole Branagh on August 31, 2008.2
On August 25, 2008, ABC announced May-Treanor is a contestant on Dancing with the Stars season seven and is paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.3 She withdrew from the competition after sustaining a broken ankle.4
