Miracle at St. Anna
Based on James McBride's novel of the same name, Miracle at St. Anna follows four African-American soldiers who served in the "all-black 92nd 'Buffalo Soldier' Division" during World War II.1
The four find themselves "trapped behind enemy lines" in Tuscany, Italy after rescuing a boy.1 The film is director Spike Lee's first war film, and the first he's made out of the United States.2
In an interview, Lee stated he "[pays] homage to some great Italian filmmakers" with Miracle at St. Anna.2 The film will be released on September 26, 2008.1
