Released for the 2007 holiday season, the Michael Vick Chew Toy was created in response to the former Atlanta Falcons football star's conviction on felony charges for running a dogfighting ring in his Virginia home. The toy itself is a flexible chew toy depicting Vick in his #7 Falcons uniform, holding a football. A second, limited edition of the toy has been issued, the Prison Vick Chew Toy, featuring the Vick figure in prison garb, a reference to his 23-month prison sentence.

The Michael Vick Dog Chew Toy is a novelty item with a serious subtext. According to testimony in his 2007 trial, Vick's "Bad Newz Kennels" were involved in the drowning, electrocution and hanging of dogs that were perceived to not be performing well enough as fighters.
