Michael Strahan Return
The New York Giants attempted to coax former player Michael Strahan into returning to the team for the 2008 NFL season. With Pro Bowler Osi Umenyiora out for the season due to injury, the Giants were looking to compensate for the loss on their defense by bringing back Strahan. After some consideration, Strahan turned down the Giants' offer, electing to stay retired.1 Strahan originally announced his retirement following the Giants' win in Super Bowl XLII.2
