Michael C. Hall is a stage and television actor. He got his start playing parts in several Shakespeare plays and other theater productions before finally landing on Broadway with the role of Emcee in Cabaret in 1999. Soon after, Hall landed the role of David Fisher in the HBO drama Six Feet Under, which earned him his first Emmy nomination.

After Six Feet Under ended in 2005, Hall took on a much darker and more sinister role: serial killer protagonist Dexter, a sociopath who disciplines himself to kill only those who truly deserve to die. Hall's performance on the Showtime series secured him two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor in a Drama (in 2007 and 2008).
