Metal Gear Solid 5

After the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4), series creator Hideo Kojima stated that this would be the last Metal Gear game of his career. However, Kojima recently confirmed that, though he will not be the lead developer, he does plan on being involved in the series follow-up.

Many have conjectured that the fifth installment of the Metal Gear franchise will be a prequel.¹ There have been several hints that the upcoming game will be about Big Boss. There has been no confirmed date for the game.

In a statement, the game's assistant producer stated that MGS4 "is really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That's all."²
