General Gameplay Tips

  1. There are advantages to choosing different mercenaries at the start of the game. Mattias Nilsson regenerates health faster, Chris Jacobs carries more ammo and Jennifer Mui has a faster running speed.
  2. The game offers suggestions for necessary equipment to complete a mission. These suggestions should be ignored 95% of the time. There are multiple ways to approach missions and plenty of handy items in the environment to accomplish the goals.
  3. Fiona's pink car outside the PMC is very fragile and it deducts $10K from the bank account every time it gets destroyed. Avoid using it early in the game.
  4. Don't blow up the fuel tanks at the PMC. The brown tanks represent the fuel supply
  5. Helicopters are the best form of transportation. Use VZ choppers to sneak up on enemy locations and launch surprise attacks on unsuspecting troops. Load up on the VZ Anaconda chopper when it becomes available from the Pirates.
  6. Listen for beeping sounds when inside a helicopter. This indicates that a SAM site or a soldier with an anti-aircraft missile launcher is locking onto your position. Immediately take evasive action and watch the radar for blinking red missiles.
  7. The mercenary can grapple to an enemy helicopter when it passes overhead. Press Y to latch onto the vehicle and follow the quick action button presses to take over the chopper.
  8. An armored vehicle cannot be hijacked unless the machine gunner is dead. Kill the machine gunner with an assault rifle and press Y to hijack the vehicle. Follow the quick action button sequence to take over the vehicle. There is a unique button press sequence for each type of vehicle.
  9. Disguise the mercenary by hijacking a vehicle belonging to the faction you are trying to infiltrate. Missions can be accomplished much quicker and the mercenary can bypass the majority of the enemy troops to reach the target.
  10. Avoid using the shotgun and pistol. These are slow, weak weapons. The heavy machine gun is excellent as well as the carbine machine gun. The RPG is an excellent fallback weapon when trying to blow up small buildings. The anti-aircraft missile launcher is a life-saver during an attack of multiple choppers.
  11. Always look at the method of delivery when scrolling through the different types of air strikes. They either use a beacon, laser designation or satellite delivery. Beacons are great for laying waste to a camp the mercenary is exiting and the other two methods are excellent for taking out targets at a distance.

Factions

  1. There are five factions in the game: Universal Petroleum, P.L.A.V., Pirates, Allied Nations and China. The VZ is also a faction, but it's a universal enemy of the five main factions.
  2. Each faction has a meter that shows how friendly the mercenaries are to the faction. A friendly faction won't shoot at the mercenary and allows them full access to their bases. A neutral faction tolerates the mercenaries, but doesn't allow them into the headquarters. An angry faction shoots at the mercenaries the moment they enter a faction camp.
  3. The mercenaries can become a friend to the faction by performing mission for them or bribing their leaders. Bribes are extremely expensive and typically cost a fifth of your total bank account.
  4. Mercenaries can avoid being blamed for attacks on a faction by using air support strikes on faction targets. Mercenaries should also kill any faction soldier attempting to call in the attack to the headquarters. It's lucrative and halts any reinforcements.
  5. Stealing weapons or fuel from a faction will cause them to shoot at the mercenary. It's best to steal fuel from factions that are already pissed off at the mercenary.

Outposts

  1. Each faction has a group of four outposts that need to be acquired from the VZ militia. Each outpost provides a new contact, new missions and new items at the shops. Most importantly, new outposts provide an expanded gas storage slot.
  2. There aren't any outposts that require more than a machine gun and RPG to capture. To capture an outpost, the surrounding troops need to be killed and the merc can call in members of the faction to capture the main outpost building.
  3. Always use a civilian car or motorcycle when entering an outpost. Make sure the merc is sufficiently disguised as a civilian. The VZ troops never fire on a civilian car. Move to the rear of the outpost and find a safe place to exit the vehicle.
  4. An excellent position to take is around the alarm. Keep the enemy away from the alarm to avoid facing reinforcements.
  5. Be wary of bunkers or barracks that contain RPG soldiers. Look for explosive gas containers to blow these buildings up. Otherwise use RPG or C4 for blow up the building.
  6. Always clear the area from back to front. The merc completely avoids stationary turrets with this method. The outpost building entrances are typically in the rear of the area as well.
  7. Take out any SAM missile launchers before calling in the chopper. Feel free to call in multiple choppers with faction members. The A.I. occasionally makes them run off and get killed instead of entering the building.
  8. Outposts differ in layout, but the process to successful completion is exactly the same for each one. The merc can also call in air strikes from afar, but it actually takes longer and the element of surprise is lost.
  9. All four outposts have to be captured before the faction boss hands out their final mission.

HVTs

  1. HVT stands for High Value Target. These targets are marked by a blue triangle with a check mark inside. They become available after finishing the first couple Universal Petroleum mission.
  2. There are two ways to finish a HVT mission. The first method is capturing the HVT by pressing B to melee the target and pressing Y to bind the hands. The mercenary clears the area of enemies and calls for a chopper to pick up the HVT. The mercenary can also carry the target to a safer location.
  3. The second method involves simply killing the HVT and verifying the body by pressing Y to take a picture of the corpse. This method is much faster, but the bounty is cut in half.
  4. TIP: Be careful of smacking the HVTs near cliffs or large drops. The fall typically kills the target and forfeits half of the bounty.

Targets of Opportunity

  1. Targets of Opportunity are missions marked by a target reticle in a blue circle. They are simply targets that need to be destroyed. It could be anything from a building to a ship.
  2. Look for explosive objects around a target of opportunity. A well-placed fuel tank is often all you need to blow up a ten story building. Toss a little C4 on the tank and back away from the area to avoid being blamed for blowing up the target.
  3. Air Strikes also work well for taking out a Target of Opportunity. Call in an artillery strike to bombard the area with shells. The mercenary can completely avoid pissing off a faction and having to pay the 20 million dollar "Let's be Friends" payment.

Retrieval

CUTSCENE: Mattias is seen driving on a motorcycle into a large estate. Mattias meets with a figure that looks to seize control of Venezuela. The scene shifts to Mattias skipping across waves in a speedboat. He's being fed intel about the operation.
  1. Control shifts into the speedboat. Use LS to steer, A to accelerate and X to slow down. Drive in the direction of the large spotlights to the left. Watch the radar in the lower right corner to spot the landing point.
  2. Land on the beach and exit the boat by pressing B. Walk up to the crate and press B to melee bash it open. Collect the grenade launcher and move north. Switch in between weapons by pressing left or right on the D-Pad or by pressing RB.
  3. Pull RT to fire the weapon, X to reload and LT to zoom. Use the cover of the rocks to fire on the four soldiers at the top of the ridge. Move up to the gate.
  4. Pull out the PDA by pressing Back. Check out some of the function and exit the screen. Air support is automatically called in to destroy the gate. Press up on the D-PAD to bring up the air support menu. Hit A to select the missile.
  5. Move the cursor in the overhead view over the gate and press A to confirm the target. A little targeting mini-game pops up. Click A when the highlighted sections pop up.
  6. Back up and watch the explosion. Click LS to sprint and race up the hill. Collect the ammo on the left and the grenades on the right. Approach the road on the left side. There is a machine gun turret up ahead.
  7. Use a grenade by pressing LB and destroy the machine gun nest. Collect the ammo in the nest and watch out for the soldier along the road that tosses a grenade at you.
  8. Move around the ruins and kill the three soldiers in the area. A vehicle is delivered to the location at that point. Hop in the Iguana (a jeep) by pressing Y. The controls for the car are identical to the controls from the boat.
  9. Kill the two men at the barricade and drive along the road to the east. Beware of a heavy machine gun nest to the right and another barricade directly ahead. Smash through the barricades and run over the two soldiers firing in the middle of the road.
  10. Stop at the sharp corner and hop out of the Iguana to call in air support on the large gate. Drive up to the gate and switch out the Iguana for the Jaguar tank. LS moves the tank, RS rotates the turret, RT fires the main weapon and RB switches cannon to machine gun.
  11. Drive up the winding road and kill the soldiers with the machine gun. Move up to the route marker and fire on the soldiers standing on the shacks to the west. Drive through the village and fire on the soldiers outside the large mansion.
  12. Drive up to the river and hop out of the tank. Grab the health and ammo to the right before crossing the river on foot. Move around the perimeter of the structure and enter from the rear to complete the mission.
CUTSCENE: Mattias rescues the general hiding in the structure and returns him to the figure seeking power over Venezuela. The figure is Ramon Solano, a billionaire with a criminal background. He double crosses Mattias and orders the deaths of all mercenaries in the area. Mattias knocks out the general and has to make a desperate leap into the sea to avoid death. Unfortunately he gets shot in the ass. The scene shifts to Mattias regrouping with Fiona. He sees Solano taking power over Venezuela and swears revenge.

Moving In

  1. Hop on the nearby Chopper (the motorcycle) and ride along the Maracaibo Coast Highway to the south.
  2. Approach the villa and hop off the Chopper. Fire immediately at the soldiers behind the sandbags. Hop the barrier by pressing A and focus the merc's fire on the approaching Iguana MG.
  3. Use the machine gun on the Iguana MG to kill the soldiers firing from the balconies on the villa. Smash the box underneath the balcony to the left and collect the C4. Shoot the soldiers behind the gate and approach it.
  4. C4 can be attached to objects by pressing LB. Pressing LB a second time detonates the C4. Blow up the gate and proceed into the villa. Work around the perimeter of the garden and kill the soldiers.
  5. The sniper icons on the map indicate the positions of Solano's Entourage. They are dressing in white suits. Move to the left and enter the hedge maze. Listen for enemies scream I'm going in!. That typically indicates a soldier will pop around a corner.
  6. Search the hedge maze and kill the first entourage member. Exit on the northeast end and move toward the hanger area. Try not to shoot the civilian workers in the area. Kill the second entourage member hiding near the tanks. Hop in the Carbyne (sports car) and run over the RPG soldiers to the north.
  7. Drive behind the villa and kill two more entourage members along the path. The third is located in the gazebo area near the sea and the fourth is protected by a heavy machine gun turret. Take him out with the RPG.
  8. Move around the villa on the east side and kill the RPG soldier. Fire on the red barrels to the right and blow open a passage to kill the final entourage member. Collect all the money and ammo in the area.
  9. Move to the route marker at the front entrance. The new objective is to clear out the villa. Collect the money outside the entrance and move in quickly. Avoid the RPG fire and kill the soldiers in the room.
  10. Move towards the marked door on the left and a Puma Light Tank bursts through the wall. Move quickly towards the tank and press Y to hijack it. Follow the quick-action button presses to successfully take control of the tank.
  11. Switch to the machine gun on the tank and kill 10 soldiers that try to storm the villa. Don't worry about taking a few RPG hits. They do very little damage to the tank. The mission is complete after all 10 soldiers are dead.
CUTSCENE: The mercs are seen moving into the villa for their base of operations known at the PMC. The mercs decide to go after a blond woman involved with the oil companies. She has a connection to Blanco, Solano's bodyguard.

Universal Petroleum

The Company

BRIEFING: The company controls the oil drilling industry in the area. The mercs decide to befriend the company by helping them recover a shipment of stolen guns.
  1. Hop in the Racing Inferno (the pink car). Press Back to open the PDA and set a route marker by pressing X. Follow the route to the stolen weapons. The weapons are in a sea green truck in the middle of a fishing village.
  2. Run over any militia in the area and immediately hop in the truck. Check the PDA and mark the new route that leads into Maracaibo. Eventually Solano's men start to appear on the path and fire on the truck.
  3. Don't bother stopping to fire on the trucks. Drive through the city and try to keep all the guns in the back of the truck. You only need one case of the guns to make the delivery though. The number of cases in the truck dictates the amount of money you will make from the job.
  4. Park the truck in the yellow marker and speak to the intercom at the front of Universal Petroleum. The company wants the merc to deliver "The Devastator" vehicle before the merc is allowed to enter the building.
  5. Steal a vehicle and ride to the center of town. Kill the soldiers in the Iguana MG vehicles before speaking to the Universal Petroleum contact marked on the radar. Move to "The Devastator" and hop on. FYI, it's not the black tank. Look behind that!
  6. Return the bike to the main headquarters and collect a $25K payoff.
CUTSCENE: The head of Universal Petroleum, Dr. Rubin, offers the merc a job immediately. The merc only wants to know where Blanco is located. The mission involves locating a kidnapped marketing executive of the company. The contract reward is $500K.

Phone Tag

  1. Hop in a Universal Petroleum car and head to the northeast to set up the first listening post. Approach the marina from the river side to avoid the tank patrolling the front of the building.
  2. Beware of the grenades while creeping around the building. Take out the men in the patrol towers first. Use the cover of the surrounding buildings to protect the merc.
  3. Move to the opposite side of the marina and watch out for the endless supply of RPG soldiers in the bunker to the south. Move to the yellow circle and hit up on the D-Pad to call in the listening post. Try to collect some RPG ammo before leaving.
  4. Backtrack to the main road and steal another Universal Petroleum car. Drive to the western marker. It's a good idea to steal an Iguana to blend into the militia.
  5. Drive up the winding road and head straight for the first parking garage for the right. Shoot the soldier on the heavy machine gun nest and climb the parking decks. Pull out the RPG and fire on the SAM rockets on the parking garage to the north.
  6. TIP: If you don't take out the SAM rockets, the helicopter can't drop off the listening post. It also costs the merc for chopper repairs.
  7. Call in the chopper to drop off the listening post and immediately move downstairs. As soon as the listening post drops, a 15 minutes timer starts counting down.
  8. Hop in an Iguana MG and race out of there. The merc should be disguised at militia by the time you hit the main road. Follow the road south and head for the final listening post drop.
  9. Avoid the fire of the UP vehicles and race directly into the camp. Drive right up to the Light Puma Tank and hijack it. Use the tank to kill all the soldiers in the area and blow up the bunker with the RPG soldiers.
  10. Switch to a UP vehicle and check the PDA after the kidnappers contact Dr. Rubin. The armored truck transporting marketing executive is on the west side of town.
  11. The merc can only hijack the truck from the rear. Drive your vehicle in front of the armored car to slow it down and walk behind the truck. Follow the quick action button presses to hijack it. Drive the executive back to the UP headquarters.
  12. Drop off the armored car and hop in The Lucky Lady (green chopper). Use the PDA to transport the merc back to the PMC and end the mission.
CUTSCENE: Ewan the helicopter pilot flies the merc back to the home base and joins the team.

Leave No Trace

NOTE: All four outpost missions have to be completed before this mission becomes available.
CUTSCENE: Dr. Rubin needs the help of the mercenaries again. Solano is sending the army to take control of UP's oil refinery. The mercenaries have to protect a high value executive.
  1. Map out the route on the PDA and switch out to a civilian car. Cross the bridge and drive up to the refinery. Kill the eight soldiers from behind. A well-placed RPG blast works wonders.
  2. Move into the building and speak to the executive. Smash the box to his right to find some more ammo. Exit the building and hop in the black truck to the right. Check the PDA for the new way point.
  3. Drive him past the exploding truck and to the trailer on the docks. Run up the boat ramp and take the defensive position to the north. Use the recoil gun to blow up the trucks and jeeps driving into the docks.
  4. When Fiona yells about the south road, run to the opposite end of the boat. Grab the recoil gun and continue to defend the trailer with the executive. After 3 waves of trucks, run back to the north end.
  5. Fire on another three waves of trucks. Beware of the soldiers approaching across the metal bridge as well. After the attack has been repelled, drive the executive to the next site.
  6. Drop him off and immediately climb the ramp behind the warehouse. The ground level machine guns are tempting, but there is a mounted grenade launcher on the first floor of the tower.
  7. Fire on the waves from the north, east and west. Switch to another grenade launcher if you run out of ammo. When Fiona yells at you, run to the roof and grab the anti-aircraft missile launcher. Take down 4 or 5 enemy choppers before heading back downstairs.
  8. Speak to the executive again and hop in a nearby truck. Drive back to the headquarters of UP for a $995K payday.

P.L.A.V.

Doom Patrol

  1. Visit Eva the mechanic to the east. It's marked on the PDA by the wrench icon.
  2. CUTSCENE: The merc goes to speak with Eva the mechanic. She has one last job to finish before she can join the mercenaries. She has to build a car and have the merc test drive it before she closes up shop.
  3. Hop in the red Cacharro de Muerte (Translates to "Vehicle of Death") and take a right. Follow the route markers and drive around the block. Test out the jumping capability by pressing RT.
  4. Take the dirt path to the strip mine. Avoid enemy vehicles by using the jump button. Check the PDA in case you get lost.
  5. The car is on a timer once you reach the strip mine. Each checkpoint adds 10 seconds to the timer. The course is very straight-forward. Follow the dirt road and hit the jump button when rocks are in the way.
  6. Be wary of a large canyon jump about halfway through the area. You have to hit the jump button as soon as the car is on the ramp. Watch out for tanks, falling logs and soldiers as well.
  7. CUTSCENE: Eva joins the team at the PLC. Ewan is in love with her.
  8. Speak to Eva about Misha the pilot. You can also try out Destruction Race Challenge from Eva. Each level awards a new car. Simply drive through the checkpoints and shoot the barrels for an extra 15 second with each explosion.

Paint the Town

CUTSCENE: The merc meets Marcela Acosta, the leader of the P.L.A.V. She has information on where Solano's secret meeting will be taking place. She wants help in removing the VZ presence in Merida.
  1. Leave the camp and hop in a jeep. Fiona wants you to stock up some items before trying the mission, but it's not necessary. Ride down to the main road and hijack a Jaguar tank at the crossroads.
  2. Drive to the eastern most building first. Pass the tanks disguised as the VS forces. Drive to the blockade and fire on the closest tank from behind. Immediately start firing on the building until it collapses.
  3. Drive west and hijack a fresh tank if needed. Use the same strategy as the previous building. Sneak up as a VS soldier and fire on the building with a tank. There are plenty of fresh tanks in the vicinity.
  4. When Fiona tells you to move toward the church, ditch the tank. Move to the church and grab one of recoil guns. Fire on the tanks that approach from the east and sprint to the west side when Fiona yells at you.
  5. TIP: Avoid taking over tanks at this section. It happens in real-time and the remaining tanks will rip the church to shreds while you are messing with quick action buttons.
  6. Continue defending the church. If the recoil guns are destroyed, use one of the supply drops. There should be plenty of RPG ammo and Anti-air missile ammo on the ground.
  7. After the church has been defended, drive west to Mendez's location. Don't bother stopping for strategic position. Charge into the camp and take out Mendez. Take his picture for proof to end the mission.

Tropical Island Getaway

NOTE: All four outpost missions have to be completed before this mission becomes available at the P.L.A.V. headquarters.
CUTSCENE: Acosta wants the merc to blow up an old colonial fortress near the mouth of Lake Maracaibo in exchange for the information about Blanco and Solano.
  1. TIP: C4 comes in handy for this mission, but air strikes work better. Take out the barracks before the rest of the main targets and the merc can earn a $500K bonus.
  2. Head for the river and snag a boat. Check the PDA to locate the fortress to the north. Ride along the water to the north and stop at the closest little island to fortress.
  3. Attract the attention of one of the enemy patrolling boats and hijack it. Move close to the fortress and use a bunker buster missile on the actual castle. Wait for the enemy attack chopper to appear and grapple onto it.
  4. Fly and land on the west side of the destroyed castle. Avoid the SAM on the east side. Move the merc down the stairs and kill the remaining soldiers in the castle area.
  5. Work around the perimeter counter-clockwise and blow up each of the eight barracks. The small wooden barracks can be blown up with one rocket or missile. The heavy stone bunkers require a much larger strike. Call in a heavy bombing run on the stone bunker by the docks.
  6. Use the cover of the ruins to protect the merc during heavy firefights. the heavy machine guns on Iguana MG vehicles work well for killing large groups.
  7. Once the bunkers have been taken out, destroy the tower and bridge with air support. Be sure to take out the jamming systems in the area with RPG blasts first.

Pirates

Misha's Milanich

  1. TIP: Before starting this mission, you might want to pick up a couple tank busters. If you have been collecting missiles around the map, you may already have several. Fiona also recommends some choppers and boats, but it's not totally necessary.
  2. Take a boat and ride out to the airline shack marked on the map. Speak to Misha about flying jets. He needs some help with killing a Lieutenant with a bunker buster.
  3. Hop in the Little Dimba (yellow jet ski) at the water and travel east in between the islands. Don't worry about enemy gunfire from other vessels. The jet ski is too fast to be hit.
  4. Circle around the island to avoid the rocket fire and land on the northern side. Kill the gunner in the Iguana MG and drive up the hill. Switch to the gunners position at the top of the hill and tear through the VZ soldiers with the heavy machine gun.
  5. TIP: Try shooting the fuel tanks. The explosion should nuke the entire area and kill the majority of the troops.
  6. Take a quick detour to the SAM site. Shoot the soldiers with the heavy machine gun and use an RPG to blow up the SAM.
  7. Drive up the northeast side of the island and locate the first bunker buster. Try to lead the soldiers away from the bunker buster to avoid a massive explosion. Call for evac of the bunker buster after the men are dead.
  8. You may have attracted the attention of the men guarding the second bunker buster. Drive up the hill and kill them before calling in air support on the second bomb.
  9. Circle around to the south side of the island and snag the final bunker buster bomb. Backtrack to the jet ski and ride north to the larger island.
  10. TIP: If you can attract an enemy helicopter and grapple to it by pressing Y, the next section is tremendously simpler. A chopper means you can fly directly into the fortress without fighting militia or tanks. Feel free to order one up as well.
  11. If you approach by sea, zip up to the shore and use the buildings as cover. Watch out for snipers on the guard towers and RPG soldiers in bunkers. Try to find a vehicle immediately and drive up the mountain.
  12. Hijack the first tank that you come across or call in a tank buster strike. Assault the front of the fortress and focus on the militia in the towers first. Circle around the perimeter and fire on the gas tanks to blow up the barracks.
  13. Try to clear a passage by blowing up fuel tanks. Just be sure you have 300 in fuel ready to go for the bunker buster. Position the merc as far back as possible before using the bunker buster. The blast takes out the entire inner section of the fortress.
CUTSCENE: The merc drags Misha back to the PMC to join the team. Misha passes out from having too much to drink.

Blended with a Twist

  1. The Pirates want to see how well you handle smuggling before working with you. Move out to the water and hop on the jet ski. It's really just a checkpoint race.
  2. Watch the radar for route markers and follow the path. Each checkpoint adds a few seconds to the time.
  3. Watch out for ramps. They can spin the boat out of control. It's important to adjust the camera constantly with RS to remain aware of the route. Be wary of other ships and mines as well.

Yo-ho-ho and a Truck Full O' Rum

  1. This is a theft and delivery mission. Hop on a jet ski and ride to the mainland. Avoid shooting the Universal Petroleum folks if you need to stay on their good side.
  2. Hop in the yellow truck and plan a route on the PDA. Try to drive erratically to avoid gunfire and rockets. Drive towards the PMC to locate the drop-off point.
  3. TIP: If you are having trouble finishing this mission due to bad luck with rockets, use a helicopter winch to carry the truck to the final destination.

Endangered Cargo

  1. Hop in the nearby truck and use the PDA to plan out a route to the opposite side of the island. Watch out for VZ forces along the route. Don't worry about taking damage from the Iguana MG vehicles.
  2. Ride along the winding dirt road and avoid hitting trees. Hit the gas when you see the wooden ramp arched up. Hit the jump and ride into the Pirate camp on the opposite side.
  3. You can also move around the far end of the island. There are more VZ forces along the path, but there's no jump to worry about.

Black Market, Warm Heart

  1. Hop in the truck and mark the route on the PDA. Take the dirt road to the Viaduct Bridge. Watch out for VZ trucks shooting at you along the bridge.
  2. Take a left along the road next to the Refinery. Skip around the first blockade in the road and watch out for the upcoming explosion on the left. There's a small hole on the left side of the road to pass through.
  3. Weave in between attacking jeeps and stick to the left side for cover. Avoid the rolling metal piping and take a right at the end of the road. Drop off the truck and collect a nice payday.

PMC

Challenges

  1. Speak to Fiona and choose the first wager challenge. You can wager between 1K to 100K. You may want to run through it once at 1K before trying it for a larger wager.
  2. In Emplaced Weapons Challenge, sprint (LS) to the machine guns and destroy the 50 statue heads. Turn around the sprint to the recoil guns. Hop on and watch the radar as the marked cars are dropped in the area. Blow each one up for an extra 5 seconds in time. Finally, sprint to the mounted grenade launcher and shoot grenades into the statue heads below and to the left.
  3. In Grenade Launcher Challenge, sprint from each route marker and fire grenades at the targets. Use the red barrel in the car portion to blow up the entire section at once. At the final section, fire grenades beside the large concrete slabs to destroy the statues behind them.
  4. In Pistol Weapon Challenge, simply race to each checkpoint and fire on the targets. Weave in between the shipping crates and fire quickly. Don't worry about expending too much ammo. Reload between checkpoints.
  5. The objectives of the challenges don't change on the higher levels of difficulty, but the time to finish them is decreased greatly. Keep that in mind when placing wagers.
  6. Besides money, completing all three challenge at a particular level award a combat package. You can't use these until getting helicopter support though.
  7. Eva's Destruction Race Challenge requires the merc to blow up barrels along a predetermined route. Each barrel adds time to the counter. Race Challenge is a simple race through VZ territory.
  8. The merc can try the new Sniper Challenge and Ewan's Winching Challenge at the PMC. The sniper challenge simply requires the merc to shoot targets and cars. The Winching challenge involves stacking metal shipping crates or other objects. The point is to place the red metal case on the top.
  9. Airstrike Challenge is fairly simple. Aim for sections of the bombing area that are filled with red barrels. They are typically better targets than fuel tanks. Aim for the middle of the field and watch the chain reaction.

Finding Blanco

NOTE: All United Petroleum and P.L.A.V. story missions have to be completed before this becomes available at the PMC.
BRIEFING: Blanco is located on the oil rig in the middle of the lake. Take Blanco alive for double the bounty.
  1. TIP: You need a VZ helicopter for this mission. It's the fastest way to get on the oil rig unnoticed. There's also several SAM sites on the rig to worry about.
  2. Disguise yourself as VZ and fly onto the oil rig. Land near a SAM site and kill the gunner immediately. Stay on the move to avoid sniper fire and work around the rig on foot. Kill the sporadic militia and make sure the merc disables all the SAM sites.
  3. TIP: Pick up the Carbine rifle on this mission if you don't have it. It's excellent for taking down enemies on the run and it's more accurate than the other rifles.
  4. After the majority of the VZ forces are dead, head for the office marked on the radar.
  5. CUTSCENE: The merc busts into the office while Blanco is attempting to give a status update to Solano. While the merc interrogates some of the men in the room, Blanco tosses a grenade and exits the office.
  6. Wait for the enemy choppers to drop off some troops on the nearby landing pad and kill them from the elevated position. Jump off the side and knock Blanco in the head by pressing B. Call for extraction and load him in the P.L.A.V. chopper to end the mission.
CUTSCENE: Solano is concerned with a newscast about a Chinese invasion, but he's in contact with North Korea about protection. He orders the General to take care of the pesky merc.

Get Solano

  1. TIP: An Anaconda helicopter from the Pirates is very helpful to have on this mission.
  2. Hop on the Lucky Lady for a free ride to Solano's fortress. Look for an Iguana MG along the road. Kill the VZ men and disguise the merc as a VZ soldier inside the Iguana.
  3. Simply drive past the entire lot of VZ soldiers. There's no need to stop and kill them. You could also grapple to a VZ chopper and use it to pass through the area unharmed.
  4. At the top of the mountain, look for two SAM sites to the left and right of the bunker. Approach each one and use grenades to take them out. A well-place RPG blast works just as well.
  5. Once the SAM sites are destroyed, the bunker buster can be called in. Position an Iguana facing away from the bunker as a getaway vehicle. Target the bunker with the air support and hop in the car to race out of there. Take any route that leads away from the blast.
  6. Unfortunately the bunker cannot be destroyed by a normal bunker buster. You need a nuke. Fiona calls and lets you know that the PMC is being attacked. You have 10 minutes to return to the PMC before they are destroyed.
  7. Wait for a moment for the attack chopper to approach. Get the attention of the pilot and grapple to the chopper when it's close. It's a four step quick action button sequence.
  8. Fly to the PMC and unload as many rockets as possible before the SAM sites shoot he merc down. Try to take control of a heavy Jaguar tank and blast the other tanks in the area.
  9. TIP: You actually have to destroy the tank before the next wave is triggered. Fortunately, the next wave is waiting to the south and west of the PMC. Go destroy them before they start assaulting the PMC. After the eight tanks are destroyed, move into the PMC.
  10. CUTSCENE: The General has his pistol on Fiona, but Ewan comes in to save the day. The General escapes in the fracas and the merc has to chase him down.
  11. Run outside and kill the four soldiers. Hop in the Iguana and chase the General's car. The merc should be camouflaged as VZ. When the General stops, shoot him and verify with a picture to end the mission.
CUTSCENE: A newscast shows China invading Venezuela to take control of the oil and the Allied Nations moving in to stop them.

Allied Nations

NOTE: All four of the Allied Nations Outposts have to be captured before any missions become available.

Missile Commando

CUTSCENE: The merc meets with Special Agent Joyce about the conflict between China and the Allied Nations. The merc demands a nuke for payment regarding removing China from the equation. Joyce wants the merc to take out the Chinese rockets that have been hammering Allied positions.
  1. TIP: The quick firing rockets on the Anaconda are perfect for this mission.
  2. This mission requires a speedy journey to the artillery positions. Hop in a chopper and fly to the artillery. Take out each position and quickly move onto the next. Keep an eye on the Allied Nations health bar to the left.
  3. Fly north towards the river and shoot rockets at the boats. They are easy to kill from a high elevation. They won't bother firing on your position.
  4. After Fiona contact the merc, fly over the shanty town. Use the machine gun on the chopper to fire on the officer positions. Try to avoid rockets as there will be significant civilian death.

Lost and Found

CUTSCENE: Agent Joyce can't go after the oil due to political pressure, but the merc can. Unfortunately other matters are more urgent. An Allied plane has been shot down by the Chinese. Joyce wants the pilot saved and the plane completely destroyed.
  1. Head to the shore and hop in a speedboat. Drive around to the southwest portion of the island. Land on the side opposite the SAM site. Storm the first prison and take out the guards using the cover of the outer wall.
  2. Release the captured pilot and lead him back to the beach. Call for an evac chopper to transport him out of there.
  3. TIP: If you want a Chinese chopper of your own, allow a guard to call for reinforcements. They arrive on a Chinese transport chopper. Grapple to it and the merc will be disguised for the moment.
  4. Hop back in the boat and drive to the northeast side of the island. There is a second prisoner to be freed. Watch out for snipers on the rooftops and the guard towers. This is an excellent place to steal an APC and drive it to the first plane piece.
  5. TIP: The Laser Guided Bomb is excellent for taking out the plane parts from a distance. In fact, the merc can destroy two of the plane parts from a boat using this method.
  6. Save the piece in the middle of the island for last. It's well defended. Try to steal a light tank and drive it up the winding hill. Don't bother shooting at the enemy tanks. Take out the final plane section and the mission ends.

Battle for Caracas vs. China

CUTSCENE: Agent Joyce was targeted by Solano and is now in a wheelchair. He wants Solano, but China still has to come first. The merc has to head up an operation to stop an impending Chinese attack on Caracas.
  1. Avoid using a chopper for this mission. The AA guns will tear apart any flying machines. Approach in an APC and immediately hijack a Chinese tank. Use it to blow up the SAM site and repeat this process on the remaining three SAM sites to the north.
  2. After all the SAM sites are dealt with, hop in any Chinese vehicle and ride into Chinese territory. Check the PDA to map out a route to the general. Don't fire on any troops. Simply ride right into the castle with the general. Feel free to ride up the castle steps in a jeep.
  3. The general is at the rear of the castle. Shoot the men at the rear of the castle and jump down to subdue the general. Clear the area of soldiers before calling in the evac chopper to haul the general away.
CUTSCENE: Agent Joyce double crosses the merc and denies him the nuke. The merc starts to get pissed off, but suddenly a nuclear blast hits the allied command center. Solano made a deal with North Korea for a nuke. Agent Joyce relents and gives a nuke to the merc.

China

NOTE: All four of the Chinese Outposts have to be captured before any missions become available.

Exit Strategy

CUTSCENE: General Peng needs help organizing his assault against the Allied Nations. The merc promises to help for a nuclear bunker buster. Ping promises the bomb for the merc's allegiance. The merc's first mission is saving a captured Chinese VIP from Allied custody.
  1. The VIP is marked on the radar as well as three buildings to be destroyed. Destroying the buildings is secondary. The VIP of the utmost importance.
  2. This mission can be very problematic. As soon as the merc gets near the target zone, the VIP's health pops up. If he isn't rescued quickly enough, the mission comes to an end.
  3. The best course of action is to fly a helicopter into the city and immediately land of the roof with the VIP. Untie him and hop back into the chopper. Dive rapidly to avoid being locked on by any of the SAM sites.
  4. You have the option of dropping off the VIP at a safe location for the moment and returning to blow up the buildings. You can also deliver the target to end the mission.
  5. If returning to the town, approach from the eastern outpost and land immediately. Use the free air support to target the buildings via satellite. It's possible to take all three buildings out with a well-positioned target in the middle.
  6. Return the VIP to the outpost marked on the map to collect several million dollars.

The Price of Gas

CUTSCENE: General Peng needs help assaulting the Universal Petroleum headquarters. He wants three targets destroyed: the Maracaibo Bridge, the UP supply depot and the main headquarters.
  1. TIP: Load up on air support missiles before going on this mission. Purchase anything that's good at blowing up buildings. It's also a good idea to load up on fuel.
  2. Target the bridge first. You can attack the bridge from the sea level or borrow an APC to blast through. C4 really works well for finishing off a badly damaged section of the bridge. There are three sections to destroy. Each has their own health meter.
  3. Take out the SAM sites and the jammers along the bridge. Call in air support when needed. Head to the depot next. Approach by air or sea. Work around the perimeter of the depot and blow up the fifteen houses.
  4. Try to steal tanks as they appear. Heavy tanks take out buildings in about two shots. Watch out for soldiers calling in for reinforcements. The Allied Petroleum forces are easy to kill, but the Allied Nation forces are typically heavy artillery.
  5. TIP: Try to keep a fresh tank for moving on the final building. The tank can take out the large headquarters in about 5 shots.
  6. Move on the final building and try to avoid the multitude of ground forces. Call in a couple air strikes to take the headquarters out. The mission ends and the merc collects a fat paycheck.

Battle for Caracas vs. Allies

CUTSCENE: General Peng needs help taking control of Caracas. This means one final assault on the Allied forces.
  1. The merc gets four free Cruise Missile Strikes for this mission. These are extremely useful for taking out the four buildings. Hop in a helicopter and fly to the easternmost building.
  2. Land on the top but take out the missile soldier first. Wait for a fresh chopper to appear and grapple to it. Land on the building in the new chopper and toss out one of the cruise missile beacons. Hop in the chopper immediately and take off. There is just enough time to get clear.
  3. Move toward the two large buildings to the west and do the same. You may need to fire some rockets into the buildings to finish them off. It's also a good idea to have extra choppers that can be ordered if necessary.
  4. Take down the small building without the help of the cruise missile. Simply use up the remaining rockets and hijack ground vehicles to blow up all the parts. Hop in a fresh Allied Nations vehicles and plan a route to the headquarters.
  5. Drive into the headquarters under the guise of an Allied Nations solider. Agent Joyce is on the left near the tents. Kill him to take the picture or subdue him. The second method requires the merc to kill all the soldiers in the area and blow up the four SAM sites.
CUTSCENE: Caracas is under Chinese control. General Peng gives the merc the nuke and Solano nukes the Chinese HQ in retaliation.

Solano

NOTE: You have to complete Battle for Caracas vs. China on the side of the Allied Nations or Battle for Caracas vs. Allies on the side of the Chinese before this mission is available.

Destroy Solano's Bunker

  1. Take a trip over to the closest Pirate establishment and purchase an Anaconda if needed. It's also a good idea to stock up gas if the supply is low.
  2. There are no SAM sites to worry about this time around. Fly directly to the bunker and start firing rockets at the tanks and helicopters in front of the bunker. There is a chopper in the air that needs to be taken out with the mounted machine gun.
  3. TIP: Look out for militia on the top of the bunker. They are armed with anti-aircraft missile launchers.
  4. Once the area is clear of enemies, land the chopper at the road. Take out the nuclear bunker buster and target it on the bunker. Keep the target painted with the laser the entire time.
  5. Wait for the massive explosion and enter the bunker through the rubble. Kill Solano's men with an assault rifle and charge into the bunker. Solano is trying to escape on the chopper.
  6. The game launches into a quick action sequence. It's slightly more forgiving time-wise than the previous sequences, but you still need to be accurate. Correctly press all eight buttons and the merc sends the chopper into a spinning motion.
CUTSCENE: The merc draws a pistol on a whimpering Solano. Solano crawls to the back of the spinning chopper and tries to buy his way out of his death. The merc fires one shot in Solano's head and jumps out of the chopper. The chopper crashes inside Solano's destroyed bunker. The scene shifts to the merc rejoining the team at the PMC. They rejoice and make plans to work in India next.

Spare Parts

There are 100 spare parts on the entire map during or after the main story. The list for spare parts is broken down by area. Eva uses the spare parts to build new vehicles and weapons for the mercenaries. The best way to spot spare parts is in a chopper.

Maracaibo

  1. Move to the Universal Petroleum entrance and collect the first Spare Part of the game in front of the fountain.
  2. Fulcrum Pins are along the north side of the United Petroleum Headquarters.
  3. Look to the east of the Universal Petroleum airport outpost. The spare part is near the bend in the road.
  4. Bolts and Screws are on the side of some rubble of a blown up building in the northwest corner of the city. It's near a small overpass.
  5. Control Arms are underneath the crane on the dock of the UP Depot Outpost.
  6. Fly directly east to find an island in the shape of a bow tie. The spare part is in the middle of the island.
  7. Fly southwest to the closest UP outpost from the previous island. The spare part is located in the lower part of the camp.
  8. Ball Bearings are in front of the Solano statue in the small park in eastern Maracaibo. It's near the curve in the main highway.
  9. The Distributor Gear is next to the middle palm tree in a row of three. It's in western Maracaibo next to a small overpass.
  10. Pushrods are at the base of a giant Venezuela billboard. The road next to it leads to the airport.
  11. Leaf Springs are in an empty parking lot next to a dumpster. It's in western Maracaibo next to a overhead walkway that has a billboard attached.
  12. Return Springs are in front of another Solano statue in a park with several palm trees. It's in southeast Maracaibo.
  13. The Thermostat is one block east of the previous spare part. It's at the base of a large billboard held up by a giant metal pole.
  14. Stabilizer Joints are just southwest of the VZ stronghold in southeast Maracaibo. It's next to a wall near a blown up building.
  15. The Exhaust Manifold is one block west of the previous spare part. It's in a fountain in a small park.
  16. The Coilover Kit is near the large billboard next to the road leading back to the PMC. It's in southern Maracaibo.
  17. Timing Belts are in the cantina to the south. It's along the Maracaibo Coast Highway.
  18. In the small camp between the Maracaibo Coast highway and the coastal road. It's before reaching the PMC.
  19. Cross Lake Maracaibo. The Ignition Coil is located behind a fence next to the large refinery.
  20. The Brake Rotors are in the Cabimas Outpost next to the three story warehouse.

Merida

  1. Fly northwest from the PMC and look for a camp in between the two roads. Pick up the spare part near the covered walkway at the main house.
  2. Alastor's Sword and Shield are on the end of the dock at the PMC.
  3. Search the grounds on the southeast portion of the PMC grounds. The spare part is next to some shrubs.
  4. The Mercs 2 Forum Member List is located at the southern end of Lake Maracaibo near a small shack.
  5. Zamkoff's Dollar is located next to the blown up hut in the middle of the circular road to the east of the previous spare part.
  6. Continue east to the crossroads and look for another spare part near the billboard at the corner.
  7. Chris's Weight Lifting Book is located in western Merida along the double highway. It's to the west of the square section of road.
  8. Mattis' Explosive Chili Recipe is located south of the previous spare part. Cross the double road and look inside a clearing surrounded by trees and rocks.
  9. L.Paolilli's LolCat Photos are in southern Merida. It's between a building with green awnings and a four story apartment building.
  10. Jen's Bartending Guide is located next to a brown abstract statue near the Cahedral in Merida.
  11. Sleff's Unknown Godly Powers are located in Eastern Merida. It's between two run down buildings. One of them is named Restaurante Japones.
  12. Solano's Autographed Baseball is located east of the previous spare part. It's to the south of the highway underneath an advertisement for the VZ army.
  13. Mercs2 Hairgel is front of the Eastern Merida Outpost headquarters.
  14. Cylinders are located south of the previous spare part. They are in front of a set of wooden crates.
  15. The Turbine is located in the middle of a restricted Universal Petroleum camp directly north of the Orinoco River Outpost.

Amazonas

  1. The Camshaft Sprocket is located directly south of the P.L.A.V. HQ. It's along the river in a small P.L.A.V. camp next to some fuel tanks.

Guanare

  1. The Rod Bearings are located north of Guanare city. They are along the river in a camp controlled by the Allied Nations. It's in between two fuel tanks.
  2. The Spark Plugs are slightly southeast of the previous spare part. It's on the northeast tip of the city inside another Allied Nations camp.
  3. The Battery Cover is east of the main city in an Allied Nations camp. It's near a fuel tank.
  4. The Wheel Hubs are on the southeast tip of the city. It's on the docks next to a long building.
  5. The Weathered Crankshaft is north in between the AN HQ and Guanare. Look around an Allied Nations camp to locate it.
  6. The Camshafts are southeast of the previous spare part. Fly along the main road and locate a small Allied Nations camp. It's next to the fuel tank. There's also a pirate HVT at that location.
  7. The Jumper Cables are to the east of the previous part. It's in between three pup tents in the middle of the woods. There's also a pile of money nearby.
  8. The Throttle Linkage is located in front of Eva's garage.
  9. Castor Washers are located far east of the previous spare part. It's in a small Allied Nations camp behind a heavy machine gunner. It's on the path leading back down the mountain.
  10. The Swivel Joints are located directly south of the previous spare part. It's in another Allied Nations camp near an alarm.
  11. The Camber Shims are located to the south of the previous spare part. It's along the path you took to test out Eva's car. It's behind a set of rocks on the cliff.
  12. The Steering Arms are located in another Allied Nations camp directly south of the previous part. It's next to the fuel tank.
  13. The Tie Rods are located directly north of the nearby lake. It's in another Allied Nations camp along the winding road.
  14. The Exhaust Valves are located on a high mountain-top in the quarry. It's southwest of the previous spare part. There is a large crane on top of the mountain as well.

Amazon

  1. The Mounting Brackets are located next to the river on the quarry side. Fly south of the main road and look for an Allied Nations camp. It's beside the two gas tanks.
  2. The Air Filters are located to the east of Solano's bunker. It's at the end of the little winding road.
  3. The Steering Box is located along the river to the north. Look for a small Chinese camp on the right. It's marked by a little dotted line road.
  4. The Rocker Arms are located to the north along the main road from the previous spare part. It's in a small VZ camp to the right.
  5. The Turning Axles are in the same camp. Continue north to find it near an enemy barracks.
  6. The Oil Seals are west of the previous two spare parts. It's in a Chinese camp on a large island in the middle of the lake.
  7. The Vapor Canisters are on a second small island to the east. It's in the middle of a Chinese camp.
  8. The Pistons are in an Allied Nations camp to the east. It's near a giant waterfall.

Cumana

NOTE: The first seven are on the east side of the river.
  1. The High Voltage Coils are located far south of Cumara. Look for a large Chinese shipping yard along the river. It's close to the V shape in the river.
  2. The Shifting Levers are north of the previous part. It's in a small Chinese controlled camp next to a fuel tank.
  3. Cam's Guitar Picks are located to the northeast of the previous part. It's on the southeast tip of the city. It's next to a two story white building.
  4. Scott Warner's Cereal is located to the west of the previous part. It's next to a large billboard along the river.
  5. Ali's Retired Chicken is located about a block north of the previous part. It's along the same road and is sitting next to a fruit stand.
  6. The Karaoke Beer Monster is tucked away on the north east corner of the city. It's at the base of a large green building.
  7. The Copy of Mercenaries 1 is located on the north end of the city. Look next to a small, two-story villa overlooking the sea.
  8. Cross to the west side of the river and pick up the Prothean Beacon. It's next to a Chinese HVT target that needs to be destroyed. It's also right on the river.
  9. Pick up Laslow's Oven Mitts about a block to the north. It's next to a Chinese guard tower along the road.
  10. Fly to the Chinese HQ castle and pick up the Intake Valves in the main training camp. It's next to a blue porta-potty.
  11. Search the northwest portion of the castle grounds to find a second spare part in the area.
  12. Fly to the Chinese outpost to the east. It may not show up until you capture all the Chinese outposts. Look for a spare part near from fuel tanks.
  13. There's a second part in the area just to the south. Search the camp with the chopper to locate it.
  14. The Gas Masks are just to the west of the Northern Cumana Outpost. It's at the crossroads near a small house.
  15. The Pressure Plates are directly south of the previous part. It's in an Allied Nations camp inside a large carport.
  16. Continue south to find the Starter Relays along the river. It's in a small camp.

Margarita

  1. The Valve Covers are on the large eastern island. Look for it next to a hotel at the southern most crossroads.
  2. The Intake Ports can be found on the Isle De Mano. It's on the western portion of the island in the middle of some VZ forces and blown up houses. It's also next to the dirt road.

Pirate Isles

  1. The Intercooler is located on the large island to the northeast. It's at the location where the first bunker buster was used. Look for the red case along the inner wall.
  2. Fuel Lines are to the southwest on the oval island with a section of road that looks like a horseshoe. The spare part is in between 4 fuel tanks in the middle of the pirate camp.
  3. The Pinion Gears are south from the previous spare part. It's in between more fuel tanks. IT's also next to a fountain that's on a set of stairs.
  4. The Windshield Wipers are on the same island. Fly west and look for two more fuel tanks. It's in the small camp.
  5. Fly to the northwest and collect V.Phoenix's Little Black Book at the Central Island Outpost. It's near the helicopter pad.
  6. Crypto's Ray Gun Parts are north of the previous spare part. Fly along the road and look for two fuel tanks in a pirate camp. It's next to the tanks.
  7. The Transfer Cases are on the same island. Fly southwest from the previous part. It's next to the gray metal boat dock.
  8. R.Djordjevich's Spy Photos are on the small VZ controlled island to the southwest. It's on the northeast tip of the island. It's near the water and a guard tower.
  9. Fly to the main pirate island to the northwest. Land just slightly west of the Pirate HQ. The Full Spectrum Chewing Gum is next to a pink neon voodoo statue at a building near the water.
  10. Look near the populated camp just north of the Pirate HQ. The red case is in the area.
  11. Sean Devlinn's Flask is further west along the beach. It's next to a small campfire.
  12. Run north along the road from the Pirate HQ. The Westwood Village Map is underneath the giant dish with the Pirate symbol on it.
  13. The Oil Pans are located on the northwest portion of the island. Look for a giant carport in a Pirate camp. The spare part is inside.
  14. The Rear Differential is next to the hotel on the southwest corner of the island.

Caracas

  1. Fly to the Mainland Coast Outpost for the Pirates. It's west of Caracas. The V6 Carburator is located on the east side of the camp near a couple old houses.
  2. Fly to the northern tip of Caracas. The Headers are located at the Port of Caracas. They are on the dock that sticks out to the west.
  3. The Spare Fuses southeast of the Port of Caraca Outpost. Look along the double road highway. It's at the front of a church next to an empty parking lot.
  4. Fly west along the road and look for a white house when the road curves south. The Crank Gears are on the front porch.
  5. The Bellowe Gaskets are southwest of the previous spare part. It's in the same neighborhood. The box is behind a gated area in front of a pink house.
  6. Fly to the west side of Caracas. The Coolant is behind a statue of a VZ general. It's next to the giant skyscrapers.
  7. Cross the river and fly to the center of Shanty Town. the Oil Pan is near a HTV target.
  8. The Transmission Brackets are in the southeast portion of Shanty Town. Look for a large dirt hill. The red box is behind a small shack.
  9. Fly southeast from the previous spare part. Collect the V8 Carburator in a small Chinese camp. It's near a large waterfall.
  10. Fly directly west to collect the Brake Springs. They are in a camp on the southern tip of Shanty Town.

Achievement List

  1. Tattooed Millionaire: Earn $1 million.
  2. Partners in Crime: Play co-op with a friend.
  3. Pipeline: Capture all outposts for a single faction.
  4. Eat the Heat: Try accelerating and braking at the same time.
  5. Armaggedon It: Destroy 20 buildings.

  7. Damage, Inc.: Use 20 airstrikes in co-op.
  8. Hail and Kill: Destroy 50 objects using melee.

  16. ...And Justice For All: Verify all high value targets.
  17. Digital Man: Unlock all shop items.
  18. We'll Burn the Sky: Unlock all landing zones.
  19. Highway to Hell: Complete three different races.
  20. Wheels of Steel: Come in first during a co-op race.
  21. Nothin' But a Good Time: Destroy 200 objects from the gunner seat in co-op.
  22. Everybody Wants Some!!: Play with a Mercenaries 2 developer or a player who already has this Achievement.
  23. Billion Dollar Babies: Earn $1 billion.

Secret Achievements

  1. Wild One: You recruited Ewan.
  2. The Rage: You completed "Rescue Carmona."
  3. Hello, Hooray: You acquired the PMC.
  4. School's Out: You completed the tutorial.
  5. Ride the Dragon: You hijacked the tank in the villa.
  6. The Analog Kid: You recruited Misha.
  7. Oil and Gasoline: You recruited Eva.
  8. Runnin' with the Devil: You verified Blanco.
  9. You Better Run: You verified Carmona.
  10. No Compromise, No Regrets: You battled for Caracas.
  11. The Hero and the Madman: You Completed Mercenaries 2.
  12. Dirty Deeds: You achieved maximum Universal Petroleum mood.
  13. Island of Domination: You achieved maximum Pirate mood.
  14. Forever Free: You achieved maximum P.L.A.V. mood.
  15. Longing For Fire: You achieved maximum Chinese mood.
  16. Stand Up and Shout: You achieved maximum mood with the Allies.
  17. Aces High: Capture all the HVTs; capture, not kill.

Achievement Tips

If you have completed the game, it's likely that you have gained over half the achievements. The game is rife with achievement glitches. Don't be surprised when loading a game and 15 achievements pop up at once. Here are some tips on the tougher achievements:
  1. Aces High: Start a new game and turn off the auto-save function. It's important to have a save point to fall back on if you accidentally kill an HVT. Work your way through all the HVT targets. Fly a chopper into the area and immediately capture the target. Worry about the remaining enemy forces second. Reload the game in case an HVT takes a nasty fall or gets shot in the head by a fluke accident.
  2. Digital Man and We'll Burn the Sky: Simply finish every single mission, every challenge and find all the spare parts in the game. Be sure to unlock all the outposts of the Allied Nations or the Chinese forces before choosing one of their story paths.
  3. Everybody Wants Some!!: Another viral achievement. Search the message boards on the official Xbox forum to find someone that has it. Briefly pop into a co-op game with them to unlock the achievement.
  4. Billion Dollar Babies: The fastest way to reach a billion is a glitch in Ewan's Winching challenge. Continue raising the wager and it starts to increase by a million each round. It's possible to raise it to 40 million per wager.
