Back to Mega Man Roots
Unlike other modern iterations of the series, Mega Man 9 was released in 2008 as an 8-bit game. The graphics resembled the first Mega Man games which appeared on the NES. In the game you navigate Mega Man through 8 different platformer levels, each with a separate boss at the end with a specific weakness. Just like other early Mega Man games, in Mega Man 9 there is some strategy involved with the order in which you choose to beat the levels: each boss yields a new weapon, which can be used to exploit the weakness of the next boss.2
