Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is a 2003 third-person shooter game and is the second installment in the Max Payne series. The Max Payne games are known for their noir aesthetic and John Woo-style cinematography.

Story

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne takes place two years after the events of 2001's Max Payne. Max has resumed duty as an NYPD detective and uncovers evidence of a group known as "The Cleaners.” The Cleaners pose as janitors, but are actually contract assassins. Back at the station, Payne is reunited with Mona Sax, who was believed to be killed in the previous game. Their reunion is short-lived, however, as The Cleaners attack the police station and kidnap Mona. Max then sets out to hunt down The Cleaners, rescue Mona and get to the bottom of the conspiracy.
