Career

Armstrong started acting in Shakespearean plays around Chicago. His first major television role was on the short-lived series Turks in 1999.

Armstrong then appeared on Family Law and The Shield before becoming a regular on American Dreams in 2002. On the show, Armstrong played a police officer who battled addictions to alcohol and gambling.

In 2006, Armstrong landed the role of Ted Sprague on the first season of Heroes. Sprague's superpower was the ability to emit and manipulate radiation, a power that inadvertently killed his wife. Sprague was killed off later in the season.

Armstrong continues to star in independent films.
