Matthew John Wise was born in Montclair, California, on November 18, 1975. He attended Bonita High School. In 1997, Wise was selected by the Anaheim Angels in the 6th round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft. ¹

Pro Career

On August 2, 2000, Wise made his MLB debut with the Anaheim Angels. In 2004, he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. Then in 2007, signed with the New York Mets. In his first season with the Mets, Wise appeared in 8 games and compiled a 4.19 earned run average. He finished the season with 3 wins and 2 losses.²
