Matt Wertz

Matt Wertz was once an Indie Music artist with a heavy fan base. He recently signed with Universal Republic Records which is a division of Universal Music Group.

Career Beginning

In his freshman year of college, Wertz began to write music and discovered that music was the direction he wanted to head. He gave up his life long dream of becoming a shoe designer and began performing for Christian youth groups through Young Life concerts.

Career

Wertz released his debut independent album, Somedays, in 2001. In 2003, he released his second album, Twenty Three Places in which he produced along with Ed Cash. Wertz began working with his best friend Dave Barnes and together they produced Wertz's EP titled Today & Tomorrow. Wertz's third studio album, Everything In Between, was released in 2006 which was produced by Wertz and Ed Cash.

Wertz's music has been featured on television shows such as ABC's Brothers & Sisters and Wildfire. His songs have also appeared in the movies Employee of the Month and My Super Ex-Girlfriend

Current Career

Matt Wertz signed with Universal Republic Records in December of 2007 and has scheduled the release of his new album, Under Summer Sun, in May of 2008.
