Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy is a professional wrestler for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He currently wrestles on the SmackDown brand. Matt and his brother Jeff were given full-time WWE contracts in 1998 and became a tag team known as the Hardy Boyz. The team would go on to feud with Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz, winning the WWE Tag Team Titles on numerous occasions. Matt has also had success as a singles wrestler, winning the European Championship, Hardcore Championship, and United Stated Championship.

Matt was released in 2005 after new of an affair between wrestler Adam "Edge" Copeland and Matt's real life girlfriend Amy Dumas (Lita) became public. That affair began between Edge (a close friend of Matt's) and Lita while she was rehabbing an injury. After Matt was released, fans turned their ire to Edge and Lita, chanting "You screwed Matt" at live events. Matt would eventually return to the WWE and the real life affair was turned into an on-screen storyline.
