Mary Pawlenty
Mary Pawlenty is the wife of Tim Pawlenty, Minnesota's Governor and potential 2008 vice presidential candidate. Choosing Pawlenty as VP would be attractive to John McCain as potential to win over the millions of evangelical Christian voters still potentially skeptical of him. Tim Pawlenty convered from Catholicism to evangelical Christianity after he married Mary.1

Early Life and Career
Pawlenty was born Mary Anderson in Minnesota. She met her future husband in the mid-1980s while attending law school at the University of Minnesota.
Initiatives
As First Lady of Minnesota, Pawlenty created the Military Family Care Initiative and the Hearth Health Initiative. The Military initiative is intended to streamline the process of allowing community groups to aid military families. There are currently around 3,000 Minnesotans deployed to Iraq.3
