Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems

Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems is a side-scrolling, 2D platformer/beat-'em-up game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System released in 1996. The game was developed and published by Capcom, and is based on events that occur in the Marvel comic book series Infinity Gauntlet. The plot revolves around the "Infinity Gems," six powerful gem items that grant various super powers. In the game you play as either Wolverine, The Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man or Captain America, fighting your way through levels and attempting to recover the Infinity Gems. Thanos, a villain of the Marvel universe, is the final boss in the game, and possesses the "Mind" Infinity Gem (Blue). In the comic book series, Thanos successfully crafts the Infinity Gauntlet, a glove with each of the gems crafted into it. At various points in the game, you can obtain five out of the six Infinity Gems, and equip them to one of the five playable characters to take advantage of that gem's power.
