NHL Career

Skoula was drafted 17th overall in the 1998 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. Following the draft, he played with the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League before joining the Avalanche in 1999 for his NHL debut. He played nearly every game with the Avalanche for nearly five seasons, including helping the team win the Stanley Cup Championships in 2002. On February 21, 2004, Skoula was traded to the Anaheim Ducks, where he finished the 2003-04 season before entering free agency. He signed with the Dallas Stars on August 3, 2005, and played 61 games in Dallas before he was traded to the Minnesota Wild on March 9, 2006.
