Martha Stewart is a business magnate, author, television personality and homemaker advovate. In 1997, Stewart, with the help of Sharon Patrick, purchased the various television, print and merchandising ventures to create Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Stewart's other projects currently include The Martha Stewart Show, a one-hour weekly call-in show on Sirius, her Martha Stewart Everyday Line, available for purchase at K-Mart, her paint line, available for purchase at Sears and Martha Stewart Vintage, a wine available for purchase as of 2007, in six different states. She also appears on Today on a regular basis.

Martha Stewart Trial

In January, 2004, Stewart's highly-publicized trial began. According to reports filed, in late 2001, Stewart sold all 3,928 shares of her ImClone stock. She avoided a loss of $45,673, when the next day her stock value dropped 16 percent. The trial lasted for five-weeks. She was found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction of an agency proceeding and making false statements to federal investigators. She was sentenced to a five-month prison term and a two-year period supervised release which included a five-month home confinement.
