Marketa Irglova is a singer-songwriter and actress known for her performance and soundtrack contributions in the independent film Once. Recently Marketa has recorded and performed on the solo projects of Glen Hansard, the front man of the Irish band The Frames. In 2006 they released the album The Swell Season and appeared together in Once the following year. Irglova was awarded along with Hansard an Academy Award for the music from the film Once.
