Gameplay
Like other entries in the Mario Kart series, in Mario Kart DS you race Nintendo characters against each other, using various power-ups and skills to make your opponents crash while trying to win. The game features eight playable characters at the beginning, though you can unlock new karts and players, such as Waluigi and R.O.B. There are three difficulty settings, and 32 separate races. In terms of racing combat, the Bullet Bill feature allows you to launch items like Bob-ombs at your opponents, which can have devastating effects. In addition to the Grand Prix single-player mode, there is a new Mission Mode, which is composed of 54 separate challenge levels where you race against the clock to complete a specific objective. To use the game's online multiplayer functionality, you will need to either connect to the internet using a wireless router, or travel to a hotspot, which are listed on nintendowifi.com.2
